DVD Cover

DVD Cover Write Up

We have created a DVD cover for our film and on it we have listed all of the key conventions including the media institutes, the titles, pictured, the certificate, the blurb, magazine reviews on the DVD, the bar code and key actors.
We have made the cover as realistic as possible as well as very bright so that it catches the attention of the viewers so that they are more likely to buy the DVD. All of the pictures that we have used are relevant to our film showing key shots within the film.
We created the DVD cover on a word document and also using paint. We used the colours that we chose because we thought that they were bright and eye catching as well as contrasting which shows the contrast between the two characters. The picture that we chose to put on the front cover of the DVD shows the main male character looking very alone as he is the only one sitting on a large bench as well as there being no one in that background of the picture which is very unusual considering that it is a park. This emphasises the character and makes sure that we know that the character is alone. It also shows of the clothes that he is wearing which helps out viewer to realise that he is of a low social status.

Target Audience

Our target audience will be aimed at young adults and teenagers approximately aged14-22. Due to the choice of genre, the audience are most likely to be female as we discovered from research and questionnaires we carried out that females prefer this genre. The likable and relatable characters will draw in the audience, as their representations are realistic to those of teenagers in the present time. We also kept various features in our opening sequence modern. For example: music choices, interesting shot types, locations and characters to interest the audience. Our film will be classified as a certificate 12 as it will contain some mild language that will be unacceptable for anyone under the age of 12.

Drawn Story Boards

Above are our original drawn storyboards. However we didn't use all of our shots as there were many shots that we decided after filming them that they were no appropriate and not needed in out opening sequence.
